 | The Reason We Ride:
The Tulare County Toy Run collects toys from riders and with the help of many corporate
sponsors, raises $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 with which we buy toys for kids.
The toys are distributed to several agencies in the community including
Casa, Child Welfare and Protective Services, Various Police and Sheriffs
Departments, Battered Womens Shelters and many more. When you see the
expressions on the faces of the agency and case workers who personally
know the kids that will be lucky enough to get a nice toy, it makes the
whole event so important and worthwhile. It is our goal to see that no
kids go without a toy or necessity at Christmas in Tulare County.
Brief History:
This
event was started in 1989 and possibly earlier than that with as few as 35
people attending to the current event attended by 600 - 800 bikers. There
was a 4 year period from 2001 - 2004 that this event was not held. We are
proud to sponsor this run and assist with the distribution to the
community.

We are getting ready for the 2008 Tulare County Toy Run!! Tickets for the 2009 Rocker Custom are available now at the store. Tickets are once again extremely limited, only 600 will be sold, $100 each or 3 for $250. ALL money raised from ticket sales goes directly to Tulare County children, Visalia Harley-Davidson donates the motorcycle. Last year was an awesome success, and we hope to repeat again this year.
This years Toy Run will take place on October 26th, with a pre-party on October 25th . While this event is sponsored by Visalia Harley-Davidson and Visalia Harley Owners Group, ALL motorcycles are welcome .

Tulare Police Department – Neighborhood Services -
We took 540 toys for their Christmas Patrol. $3290.53
Tulare Vineyard Compassion Ministries - for Annual Christmas
Toys Distribution – we delivered 1,095 toys for the
more than 1,000 families that they will provide for this Christmas.

Tulare County Child Protective Services - Delivered 715
toys to be used in the Court Ordered Family Maintenance Program.
Toys will be distributed by case workers.

Tulare County Sheriff’s Department – Police Activities League -
They got all of the toys collected the day of the toy run and a few last
minute needs. We estimated 580 toys in all.

El Granito Foundation of Porterville (equivalent to Visalia
Emergency Aid) we delivered 403 toys for their Annual Christmas
Party that includes a Food and Toy hand out

For the Annual Youth Christmas Party.

Visalia Women’s Shelter – We provided for children there through
Christmas as well as Moms with kids that have recently moved out
on their own

New Vision Youth Center- This is a drop-in center for homeless and
transitioning 12 -25 yr. olds. We bought art supplies for their program
and McDonalds Gift Certificates.

Christmas Distribution specifically to their teenagers.

Golden State Family Services – Delivered 588 toys for this Foster Care Organization. This made a huge difference this year for them.

Broadcasting (KJUG) for donation to Visalia PAL for their annual
Christmas Party.

Kids for Christmas program – Founded 24 years ago by a group of
Concerned folks from Visalia – they started with a small group of 50
Kids that they provided a party and gifts for – that total is now 300 kids
from all over the Central Valley. We helped this year by buying 95
gifts for these kids.

Operation Fuzzy Feet Program – We purchased 130 pairs of slippers for
Childrens Hospital of Central California. These slippers are stocked
at the hospital throughout the year and given to kids that don’t have any.

Thanks to all the Bikers who participated. We have made a huge difference
to many kids this Holiday Season. A special thank you to KB Toys and
Walmart who both gave us a 10% discount and made it possible to get
several hundreds of extra toys for distribution.
